At Fortissimo, the show is the star. Imagine a space where immensely talented pianists and vocalists duel it out, taking requests from a lively crowd eager to sing along. With a repertoire that spans decades, these performers engage the audience in a manner that transforms each night into a unique celebration of music. As one enthusiastic patron put it, "The musicians were funny and entertaining beyond playing with full passion activated!"
The atmosphere weaves together a spirited vibe that invites everyone to participate. It's not just about watching; it’s about becoming part of the performance. With customers who frequently return, like Tony Chung, who raved about the authenticity and talent of the players, it’s clear that this is a place where magical musical memories are made.
But what’s a night of captivating tunes without some delicious bites? Fortissimo offers a menu of small plates that perfectly complement the evening's festivities:
- Da' Dip: A creamy roasted artichoke dip served with crostini or tortilla chips, perfect for sharing (Serves 13, $14.50).
- Anything for Love: A delightful charcuterie board featuring fennel-infused salami, local summer sausage, and a selection of fine cheeses, berries, and preserves ($21.00).
- Pop it Like It's Hot Flatbread: Infused with a rich white sauce, jalapenos, and Andouille sausage, it's a flavor-packed dish that’s sure to please (Serves 12, $15.50).
- Kokomo Key Lime Pie: Indulge in this refreshing dessert topped with toasted coconut ($8.00).
Now, don't be surprised if you find yourself sipping on one of their fun drink specials while savoring your meal. Araceli Burket noted, "Fun drinks. Limited food menu but the music is what we go for," and that highlights the essence of Fortissimo. While food is an important element, the soul of the venue resides in the music and the connections made among fellow patrons.

I’ve been to this place four times during two different Denver trips in the past eight months. I’m a musician, and I swear, these players are LEGIT. Ignore all the negative reviews*. The quality of the entertainment and the service depends a lot on the patrons in the audience. I can’t lie. Each night that I went with my friends (work colleagues), and once with my wife, we were having so much fun, and stayed after closing time to chat with the entertainers and staff. My first experience was a Wednesday night Broadway Jukebox Karaoke. Musical genius Joshua Steven Kartes and co-host Chocolatina “Queen of Pies” bantered about the musical theatre landscape with a bunch of singer friends who were talented enough to play on Broadway—actually, that night, Max Chernin dazzled us with a couple of numbers. He was visiting Denver while on vacation after his latest Broadway show closed. The next night I brought my wife and the crowd was smaller and more reserved. Jon Sherman, Riley O’Toole, and John Tuck wowed us with hits from multiple decades. I was blown away by Jon’s keytar prowess on Sweet Child of Mine and Separate Ways (World’s Apart). Eight months later, the Wednesday night was a more reserved general purpose karaoke show where several party people got up to “sing”, a vocal instructor got up to SING, Chocolatina’s pastry chef alter ego Martin Howard truly entertained with the voice teacher AND Joshua Steven Kartes, and I muddled through renditions of Waving Through A Window (video) and Scenes From An Italian Restaurant. The next night, eight of my work colleagues joined a handful of private party-goers and the place was electric! Jon and Riley were joined by the soulfully smoky voice of Jami McNeill, whose rendition of Janis Joplin’s Bobby McGee sent chills down my spine! Jon again keytared through Hotel California (ending on video). Although, the most impressive moment was when Riley ripped through Eminem’s Slim Shady (video). I didn’t talk about the food because we mostly drank pitchers of beer, fancy cocktails, and mocktails. When I brought my wife last year, we made a dinner from a selection of appetizers. But you don’t go here just to eat. With the right crowd, the atmosphere is such a fun place to be! What a treat! I make a point to visit this place whenever I’m in Denver! Notes: * Okay the bar’s paid reservation policy is a little ridiculous, at 5/each for Wednesday, 10/each for general, and 15/each for reserved seating. It would make sense if the cost gets credited off your food and beverage tab, but there isn’t anything in the website that says that.
